In 1973, I was the pianist who got to carry a portable harmonium to Lower River Campground and play at the amphitheater there. It was a novel experience to unfold the harmonium and play for the campers—and even the owl in the tree overlooking the stage.

With cliffs surrounding the valley and birds joining in our worship, we were blessed by the reminder of God’s love and provision. Every note seemed to echo His creativity and care, making it a summer I will never forget.
