A Visitor’s Prayer

I saw God work in awesome ways in my life during my summer with ACMNP! One occasion occurred at the end of July as two girls from the team and I were facilitating a service at Jackson Lake Lodge. Our services at the lodge are held inside which can make it hard to get people to attend when all the other Grand Teton services take place in beautiful outdoor amphitheaters. But this evening a group of about ten college aged visitors attended. It was obvious they all knew each other, and we soon learned that they were Christians traveling together to a friend’s wedding.

We made small talk with them until it was time to start. The service went smoothly and everyone there seemed to enjoy the worship and message.

Following the service two of the men in the group shared that they had done ACMNP several seasons ago. They were telling us of their experiences from their summers and how they saw God move in their lives. It was uplifting and encouraging to hear stories and talk with alumni. Before leaving, the group gathered around the three of us current team members and prayed for us in a waterfall type prayer where they all pray quietly out-loud at the same time.

A Visitor's Prayer

It was the end of July and I was feeling discouraged, the middle of the summer blues where you want to go home, are missing family, missing friends, realizing the summer is half over, all the usual things. In that moment I felt God saying, “I’m here, I know how you feel and this is my gift to you today.”
